A sense of pride in community, family, and neighborhood
As I sit in this beautiful home during the Parade of Homes this year, it is great to see the amount of people that are coming through. So many of them thinking about building their first home, or their second, many looking to downsize to a twin home, or villa, and many looking for decorating ideas for their own homes or remodeling projects. I love talking with everyone about the many things that Michael Lee has to offer, not only in this home, but in the twin homes off of Carleton Drive here in Hastings that we will soon be starting, the villas in Woodbury at Pioneer Point that we’ve already begun, and the villas at Boulder Ridge in Lake Elmo that we are starting next year. We talk about the fact that we have many lots available in this neighborhood or that we can build on your own lot. For those thinking about remodeling, Michael Lee has a separate remodeling division, perfect for those considering building an addition, finishing a basement, or doing a kitchen renovation.
It’s always fun to meet the people coming through. Some have come from as far away as Washington State and New York looking at homes in the Hastings area. Most people for the most part already live in Hastings and are looking to build and stay in Hastings. You get a true sense of pride in their community when talking to so many families who have lived in Hastings for so many years. Often a family will come through and see another family they know from church, or school, or their neighborhood. It’s great to see! It’s also nice to hear all of the positive feedback on the model home as well. They love the large lot, and the open concept kitchen, dinette and family room, they love the flex room, which is a room that could be used anyway you’d like, as an office, a library, a formal dining room, a piano room. They love the bonus room upstairs, “the perfect gathering space” one person called it; other’s suggested a homework area, a video game area (recommended by a 10 year old boy), and a family prayer area. They love the uniqueness of the upstairs layout and the large laundry room it offers.
It is so interesting to see so many people who are visiting while riding on their bikes, as there are bike paths down to the river and walking trails interconnecting the neighborhood all through town. Many have stopped to visit after their trip to the local apple orchard or after mass at Elizabeth Ann Seaton just a few blocks away. So many kind and friendly neighbors stopping in to take a look and telling me of their building experiences and hearing many great testimonials to building with Michael Lee. I love looking out the upstairs window and seeing a baseball game in action just a short distance away at Wallin Field.
I imagine the family that one day moves in and how wonderful it would be to sit on the front porch and watch their children play or ride their bikes in the cul-de-sac, or play with all of the neighborhood children a game of kickball in the large backyard. I imagine the children coming home from school and unloading in the large mudroom area. How did we ever live without mudrooms?
While sitting in this home you can just feel that it is a perfect place to raise your family, a beautiful home, a great neighborhood, a fabulous community. Stop in and see us!
