Does it cost more to build a custom home? Simply put, NO! Now if you want a 6,000 SF home with exotic finishes, yes that will be more. But the majority of custom homes are priced similarly with national builders, but with full customizability!
Does it take more time to build a custom home? Again, NO! The build time from a reputable builder for similar sized homes will all be the same with exception of weather delays etc. And with a custom home you can spend as much time as you want pre-construction to make sure your next home design is perfect!
Is there more value when building a custom home? I would argue there is! Not only do you get the immediate value of moving walls, adding closets, re-arranging the laundry, etc. etc. to get the home of your dreams, when you drive through a neighborhood filled with custom homes in 10-15 years, the appearance of the neighborhood is much better than a tract sub division.
Is it hard to finance a custom home? Again, no it is not! With the implementation of one time construction loans financing your new home is easy, and if you don’t want interest payments while the home is being built there is builder financing available as well!
